Tandem offers expertise in Passivhaus home design through a collaborative process that listens to your needs.

Building or renovating your house is one of life's biggest decisions. For many people, it is also the first time they have ever worked with an architect.

This page provides an overview of the design and construction process, as well as the information I will need to learn about your project.

Please note that I've decided to concentrate on projects in Quebec, so I'm no longer accepting projects in Ontario.

Start Early

I take on a limited number of projects per year since I share my time between projects and teaching. If you have a project in mind, I recommend that you contact me early in the process to reserve your spot.

I sometimes get requests to adapt a set of plans to turn them into a Passivhaus building. Unfortunately, it's not that simple: by the time you have a complete set of plans, the decisions that will have the greatest impact on the energy performance and cost of the building have already been made. In order to achieve exemplary energy efficiency, Passivhaus principles must be integral to the design process. For this reason, I recommend that you contact me early in the process.
